So if you find aisles too small, the weight to heavy or your just not sure which product is the best for your pet, come and give us a try. You won't have to get out of your car and if you don't like how we look you can just drive through.

How It All Began

The concept of Robbo's Pet Barn was born between two brothers during 1995. Kevin Robinson, a successful horse trainer in the South Coast region of Berry, NSW shared ideas of a new age pet supplier with his brother Peter Robinson, a car wholesaler for 29 years in Canberra. Peter was looking for something unique, and still challenging. Kevin understood that pet owners were looking for a supplier that could offer a range of products with the right service and advice. Peter understood the need for convenience, range, and the best possible price. Hence the idea of pet supplies taken into the 21st Century of shopping where the shopper can go to one superstore and know that the widest range is supplied under the best buying power.

The idea was introduced to Peter's daughter Jasmine, also a keen animal enthusiast who was so impressed by the thought of this valuable service, that she and her husband Ken moved over to Canberra to join in. Ken was a firefighter for 11 years in Perth but managed to rejoin in Canberra, so that the family could start The Pet Barn.

March 15, 1996 Robbo's Pet Barn opened in an unused Freight Centre at the Kingston rail yard. With lots of love and hard work a new world for pet owners was created. "Robbo's" busts with an enormous range of fresh and dry pet foods along with accessories to suit all types of pets, but best of all, offers this in a drive-thru manner.

It didn't take long for the word to spread. Within four years the Canberra store boomed with feedback on the concept overwhelming. This led to Peter taking the idea to Victoria, leaving Ken and Jasmine to run Canberra.

May 1, 2000 Robbo's Pet Barn opened in Dandenong South, Victoria. There with an expert team assisting, more and more pet owners were impressed by the range, price and convenience that the store offered. Being ever ready to expand led to the newest form of shopping, "The Net". Robbo's could understand the extra convenience that this would offer shoppers, naturally leaving them with more time to spend with their animals.
